Having something interesting to learn from is incredibly important. I think I'm going to start by picking out words in TH-related German writing (or songs? I know someone who initially starting learning a language because she wanted to properly translate a beautiful song). I learn best by immersion, diving in far above my head, I'm beginning to believe.
