brigid - I found

brigid's journal a few days ago, and have been eagerly awaiting Friday to recommend it. She has an ongoing writing project called "Secret Chicago", small pieces of urban folklore, inspired by 200 Phenomena in the City of Calgary, well-balanced on the disturbing/fascinating creepypasta line.

tree - tree writes and thinks and does these things particularly well. Any kind of description I can add to that feels somehow presumptuous, so I'll just urge you to look at her journal.

Here's the plan: every Friday, let's recommend some people and/or communities to follow on Dreamwidth. That's it. No complicated rules, no "pass this on to 7.328 friends or your cat will die". Just introduce us to some new things to read.

beginningcocks: named for a misreading of 'beginningcooks', this comm is all you need to understand cocks. I cannot promise it will cause you to appreciate them; maybe you need to be born that way.

dailyprompt and

stayintheroom: if you're a fiction writer and find prompts useful, check these comms out.

stayintheroom has fewer members, but some very creative prompts.

rho: everyone should have some

rho in their lives. She should, however, come with XKCD's warning attached: occasionally contains strong language (which may be unsuitable for children), unusual humor (which may be unsuitable for adults), and advanced mathematics (which may be unsuitable for liberal-arts majors).

googledoodles_feed: a feed of Google's special logos, including the many you won't see in your country. Prettiness.
